EARLY TEACHINGS

1. That God is our healer, and we therefore have no need for the medical profession.

"The Autobiography of Herbert W. Armstrong", Chapter 18

 2. That healing is sometimes withheld by God because of spiritual sins that we need to address first, not because of "physical sin"

"The Autobiography of Herbert W. Armstrong", Chapter 22

3. That God uses the first visible sighting of the New Moon to establish the first day of each month. (There was a failure to follow through on the instruction given in this teaching). The following articles were written by HWA in the year 1940.

"When, and How Often, Should We Observe The Lord's Supper"

       "How To Figure Passover"

4. That we are to observe three "Pilgrimage Feasts each year, not just one. (They started out well, only to taper off and finally end the practice 1967, when they went back to pilgrimaging to the Feast of Tabernacles only)

"Come to the Tabernacle", "Good News Magazine", August 1953

"Over 5500 Observe Passover", "Good News Magazine", May 1961

All the changes that followed these, were merely the logical dismantling of a church that had already forsaken the earlier revelations of God. Some of the most devastating of these changes dealt with our disregard for the following teachings:

5. That marriage is for life, with no exceptions.

"Divorce and Remarriage" Herbert W. Armstrong 1953

6. That Pentecost always falls on Monday.

(Yes, the fiftieth day of the count lands on a Sunday, but we are commanded to tally a full fifty days before meeting before God, rather than to keep the fiftieth day. See the meaning of the words "count" and "number") Monday was inspired by God, not the method of counting toward it.

7. That we are to avoid the "old favorite hymns" sung by Satan's churches.

"How This Hymnal Came to Be", "The Bible Hymnal", H. W. Armstrong.

We have provided links where all these teachings may be found. However we will happily assist where ever we can.
